*UPDATE:* Our native Roku App is undergoing maintenance to better integrate it with our main BollyX On Demand website (which runs on a separate platform: bod.bollyx.com). In the meantime, here a few workarounds that will still allow you to connect your device to TV (a few options of which include Roku!):
Casting BollyX On Demand to Roku - works great with Android and Windows phones and tablets! Here's a 90-second video tutorial from BollyX on how to do this: https://youtu.be/Yfqt21vTMsI
1. Login to your BOD account at bod.bollyx.com using your Android or Windows device
2. Select or customize a workout
3. Cast your device to your Roku! BE SURE to remove screen lock when you cast :)
Here's the article from Roku on how to set this up (takes about 60 seconds once you've got the hang of it!): https://support.roku.com/article/208754928. In the article, scroll down to the section called "How do I screen mirror from my Android/Windows device"
iPhone/iPad users - unfortunately Roku does not currently support casting to Roku from Apple devices. However, we recently made BollyX On Demand compatible with AppleTV! So, you should be able to login to bod.bollyx.com on your mobile device and then Airplay to AppleTV. Be sure to use Apple's built-in web browser (Safari) for the best experience. Safari, Chrome and Firefox are our best browsers for BollyX, but Safari tends to work best with Apple devices.
*Quick note: screen locks on Apple devices sometimes interfere with Airplay, so if you notice the cast being interrupted, try switching off your screen lock temporarily while you workout, that should do the trick. If you don't have Apple TV, Chromecast or an HDMI cable connection (see below) readily available for your Apple device, we'd highly recommend grabbing an Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite. There is a built-in web browser on that device which allows you to connect directly to the main BOD site, without any need to cast. The Fire Stick makes for a great travel companion as well (instantly turns any TV into a smart TV). Plus, it's cast-compatible for Apple users too!
Amazon FireTV users - you're in luck! Amazon's got a free built-in web browser that works perfectly with BollyX On Demand's main website. Check out this article to get dancing using your FireStick: Accessing BOD via Amazon SILK on FireTV Stick
Chromecast - BollyX is optimized for use with newer Chromecast models and some older ones as well! Here's a quick article from Google on how to get started: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6006232?hl=en If you run into any issues (in particular, on older devices) - login to BOD and give this test playlist a try using your Chromecast: https://bod.bollyx.com/workouts/chromecast-test-10-min-a/ A subset of our videos filmed at a higher frame rate cause older models of Chromecast to glitch. This issue should be resolved soon; in the meantime, simply search "Chromecast" in the workouts tab for more playlists that are compatible with older generations of Chromecast. Or, if building your own custom workouts, use songs that are more recent (further up) in the song library, as all of our newer videos are filmed to be compatible with both older and newer generation Chromecast models! See our FAQ on Chromecast to see screenshots that help you find exactly where to look!
Connecting via HDMI - this option can be used to connect any phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer directly to TV with perfect audiovisual streaming! You've most likely already got an HDMI cable lying around the house, so depending on what you're using to connect to BOD, this might be a great option for you!
Using your Smart TV's built-in web browser - this option is usually more hit or miss depending on the brand of your TV (e.g., Samsung, LG, etc.) and how old it is. Here's an article with more information.
